Twitch streamers are getting even more brazen, with sexually suggestive content running rampant on the platform.
A couple of weeks ago streamer Morgpie popularised a new trend, where she pretended to be naked thanks to some deceptive camera angles. It didn’t take long before other streamers caught on, and added virtual censor bars to make them look naked too.

Morgpie and others were banned, and then unbanned, with both them and Twitch seemingly unsure what was allowed, with Twitch changing its policy on nudity twice in two days.
Now Amouranth, one of the most popular female streamers on Twitch, has joined in on the trend, with actual physical censor bars – as men get in on the act too.
During a recent stream, Amouranth greeted fans to her twist on the newest trend, by appearing nude but with two black sheets of card across her body.
At least that’s what it looks like, as most likely she is clothed underneath, just like Morgpie was during her topless-but-not-really streams.
The trend has had a snowball effect and evolved considerably since its inception, especially as men have joined in too now.

Streamer Tectone appeared on stream with a virtual censor bar over his crotch in a recent stream. Although he was really just making fun of the trend.
Twitch’s policy doesn’t allow any nudity, and streamers are getting around that by wearing underwear but making it look like they’re completely naked, with the help of censor bars and pixelation in other cases.
When the trend started a couple of weeks ago Twitch reacted by allowing more nudity on its platform, but quickly reversed its decision due to community backlash.

Twitch has yet to explain how they want to handle the trend that is taking over the platform at the moment, except for a message from its CEO, Dan Clancy, when the platform reversed its decision to allow more nudity in the first place:
‘We are in the process of pushing out updates to our Community Guidelines that reflect this change. It will take a few days for both this blog and for the new Community Guidelines to be translated.’
It’s now difficult to tell what’s allowed anymore, or if Twitch will stop the trend eventually, but with so many streamers currently joining in it’s going to result in a lot of bans if they suddenly try to stop it completely.
