Former Activision Blizzard exec Eugene Wu has joined talent agency UTA in its esports brand partnerships department, reporting to the company’s head of esports, Damon Lau.

In the new position, Wu will work with UTA’s roster of esports athletes, content creators and streamers — which include Fortnite streamer Nick Kolcheff (NickMercs), Twitch personality Imane Anys (Pokimane), and Hearthstone and Teamfight Tactics streamer Jeremy Wang (Disguised Toast) — in expanding their brand portfolios.

Lu was previously senior manager of global partnerships at Activision Blizzard, pairing the Call of Duty franchise with major brands such as Pepsi, Adidas and Burger King.
UTA’s roster of esports athletes also includes YouTuber Rachel Hofstetter (Valkyrae) and chess streamer Hikaru Nakamura, known as Grandmaster Hikaru, who was signed by the agency earlier this year. Another recent signing was BrookeAB, while electronic music and gaming star Joel Zimmerman, better known by his stage name, deadmau5, was signed by the company’s music department.
